Questions

Why show four shapes for each letter?

Urdu letters change shape when they join. A child who only learns the alone shape of ب cannot read بلی. Each letter sheet shows the alone, start, middle and end shapes. Letters such as ا د ر و ے join only to the letter before them, so they have two shapes.

Nastaliq or Naskh?

Pakistani schoolbooks and newspapers use Nastaliq, so it is the default. Many teachers start small children on the simpler Naskh shapes. Switch with the Script menu.

How do I save a PDF on my phone?

Tap "Print or save as PDF". On Android pick "Save as PDF" at the top of the print screen. On iPhone, pinch out on the preview and share it.

We live abroad and do not read Urdu ourselves. Can we still use it?

Yes. Every sheet has English instructions, every word has its Roman Urdu and English meaning, and the stories have a Roman Urdu line under each Urdu line.
